Back in 1999 National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) began. The goal was to write a novel of 50,000 words or more in a single month. The month of November with 30 days, no less. That first year six people managed to crank out the word count. In 2003 and 2004 my husband, Peter, also managed to complete novels. However, he never did anything with the stories he cranked out in that time. He always planned on doing it each year. The next November found him a newly wed with a lot on his plate and he decided to put it off for a year. However, the following year found him with a young baby, a full time job, and we were just moving into a new apartment in a new state. Each year it seemed to be too hard to get it done.
However, Peter has decided to write a novel this November. He has a full time job and often works more than forty hours. He has a wife, a three year old son, and a five month old daughter. We also live in a small 600 square foot apartment making it hard to just lock himself away. None the less we are determined for him to put his skills to the test and write out a novel in the month of November. This year we are also determined to do something with the novel created. The first something that we are going to do is provide a copy of the rough draft Mortals in the Dragon’s Eye by Peter Karth on this here site. We hope that you enjoy the experience and that you take the time to leave any comments. Just remember that it is a rough draft with absolutely no editing!
